SDI Open Water eLearning

SDI

Step 1- Start your SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course and master all the important academic information online or at your local dive shop. You can complete this phase through self-study, at your own pace and convenience. All eLearning courses work on mobile and tablet devices too.

Step 2- For entry-level certification courses (as well as some continuing-education classes), the next step will be to complete your in-water skill-development training. This takes place in a swimming pool under the supervision of an SDI Instructor.

Step 3- The final step is to complete the required number of SDI open-water training dives under the supervision of your SDI Instructor. Here you will apply what you have learned during your academic and skill-development sessions, while learning practical lessons that can only be gained through real-world experience in open water.

PADI Open Water eLearning

PADI

Step 1- PADI eLearning makes it easy to fit scuba lessons into a busy schedule. Learn about scuba diving principles and terminology whenever, wherever it's convenient for you. It is your course on your time. Study offline, or online using a computer or mobile device. Connect with you instructor whenever you have a question. The eLearning commitment is approximately 5-10 hours.

Step 2- Practice using scuba gear in a pool until you are comfortable. PADI training includes practice "mini dives" to help you build your confidence in your new abilities before making dives in open water. These open water dives will happen after you and the instructor go through all the dives skills.

You will need to be able to swim and be medically fit for diving. The total time commitment is 4-7 days. The minimum age is 10 years old. The maximum depth allowed for this certification is 60ft/18m.
